Jim Morrison

by Raychil   Jun 20, 2007

It was supposed to be an average day
Just me, my mom, my dad
I didn't think that it would be
A day that would drive me mad

I stared out of my window
My dad saw it first
An object lying in the road
He quickly assumed the worst

He stopped the car abruptly
Then he and mom got out
I watched them walk over to it
And then I hear mom shout

I also slid from my seat
And went to where they were
And there before me lay a man
Wearing only fur

My parents walked back to the car
They thought that he was dead
But then he reached up and grabbed me
His memories flashed through my head

I knew his name and who he was
I knew how he got here
Then he said he would be with me
And I had nothing to fear

With that last breath he died
And I saw his soul fly
I watched it go into my body
I swear it's not a lie

I told my parents my story
They looked at me afraid
I told them not to worry
That we were both ok

My story has traveled far
About my Indian and me
The one I saw there on the road
That only I now see

Maybe you think I'm crazy
Many people do
Maybe you don't believe my tale
But I swear, it's really true.

Amazing poem love. i wouldn't change a thing. it was so powerful and so capturative. although there were a few spelling mistakes such as "the, instead of then" and "my, instead of me" i absolutely loved it. 5/5.
