We Have a Vacancy Indeed

by brielle   Jun 20, 2007

Look around she said to me
"Nearly every room has a vacancy"
I returned a look of disbelief
Impossible i wispered torn with grief
Each one is filled with four or more
"So which one's worth fighting for?"
She gave me a grin and walked away
Although i prayed that she would stay
I simply just can't comprehend
How a search like this would have to end

I strolled and peered through each window pane
The sights i saw I can simply explain
Each group of people different than the rest
Yet i seemed to admire one group best
But I knew there's no way that I'd get in
You can't change fait or what has been
So I kept on walking across the floor
Pondering the possibility if i had knocked on the door
But too late, Im gone, I won't turn round
Yet maybe another room's to be found

And soon enough I came upon one
Not as good as the first, but i guess kinda fun
The other seemed better, but oh well too bad
I'd fit better here even in I was sad
I knocked on the door and started to plead
Yes they replyed, we have a vacancy indeed
I walked on in and by the window I sat
Just still and staring like a simple door mat
The place I belong I groaned with a sigh
And more sadly yet a place I shall die

I continued to gaze at the sights outside
And soon saw a girl who seemed like my kind
I watched as she peered through each window and looked
But seeing her face those rooms would be booked
She was one of me and as far as I knew
Those rooms wern't for here, so please get a clue
But she soon walked over to the room I liked best
The one that seemed better than all the rest
And with amazement to me beyond all belief
She knocked on that door for a vacancy

The door opened slowly and one of them stepped out
She had a smug look quite like a pout
And what do you want she said with a sneer
I wish to come in, is a vacancy near?
THe smug girl just stared, than a giggle she gave
And why should you be a person we save?
She thought for a moment then her answer was made
Cuz I stood up and I'm not afraid
The girl soon smile and stepped aside
Leaving the door open, inviting and wide

Disbelief was etched all on my face
How could she get into that place
She was just like me, if not the same
That room was clearly mine to claim
But soon the words came clear to me
"Nearly every room has a vacancy"
I bit my lip, no more to be heard
Finally understanding the lady's first word
Equal chance was with both and no more
So what in life is worth fighting for...
