Unwilling

by Kristi   Jun 21, 2007

Who am I?
Wretched and on my knees again,
it seems that a love worth fighting for
is just beyond my reach.
But with rebellion in me
lies the downfall.
What beauty is there in me?

How do you love?
Do you love?

Looking down on me now
will you sever these chains?
Will you lead me to the desert
and speak tenderly, oh tenderly?
Only yesterday I sighed for you
but now I'm overcome
Chasing ghosts when you've been
the one all along,
all along...

Here am I,
stripped and cannot find my way
it seems that treacherous desire
has overtaken grace.
What beauty is there in me?

How do you love?
Do you love?

Looking down on me now
will you sever these chains?
Will you lead me to the desert
and speak tenderly, oh tenderly?
Only yesterday I sighed for you
but now I'm overcome
Chasing ghosts when you've been
the one all along,
all along...

Here is my heart
blackened, dripping in shame
it seems that intimate desires
have led me to your feet.
Tender Heart,
you're longing fiercely,
yet am I still unwilling?
Am I so unwilling?

How do you love?
Do you love?

Looking down on me now
will you sever these chains?
Will you lead me to the desert
and speak tenderly, oh tenderly?
Only yesterday I sighed for you
but now I'm overcome
Chasing ghosts when you've been
the one all along,
all along...

Yet am I still unwilling?
Am I so unwilling?
