Follow your rainbow

by ben thompson   Jun 21, 2007

A entrancing rainbow sparkles across a endless sky.
In contrast to solitary blue, beauty displayed on high.

Terrible news discovered, dreams shattered and broke.
Searching for any assurance, a future cast in smoke.

Sadness runs rampant, fragile hearts crack and break.
Countless days drown by tears soul begins to quake.

Time flows, hardships reign, trials become too much.
Needing steady arms, family there to hold us up.

Tough to imagine a life without your smile around.
Looking at old pictures hearing your laughter sound.

Last moments spent together holding your fragile hand.
Loving a women like you has made me a better man.

At last you close your eyes peace fills your tired face.
Fly on toward our rainbow, Jesus has prepared your place.

This was very sad. I wish all the best of hope to the person this piece was inspired by. So young and tragic. The situation reminded me of the poem Terminal my mom and I wrote. Cancer is non discriminating, nobody's safe. Heartwrenching. Nice job on the poem!

    Ben,

Such a sad write. I understand the pain you are feeling in each line you write. It is such a heartbreaking thing to lose someone you love and care about. But as you take these last few months to be with them, then pray that her passing will be peaceful and she doesn't have to endure any pain. And above all, remember, though her passing may bring you sorrow, It will also bring her relief.

May God be with you and your family today and forever

    Always,
    Jeannie

That was so sad... and yet beautiful at the same time. It honestly brought tears to my eyes. You chose your words wisely, and made that a very touching poem.

In a technical sense, the poem flowed and rhymed fairly nicely. In an emotional sense, it was amazing. You expressed everything well.

    Very nice.
