Why?

by luv Shelbz luv   Jun 21, 2007

Why do dandelions always look pretty
but are really weeds that grow old and
spread themselves over lawns and lives?

Why are toddlers so careless about
what is going on around them and only
care about what flavor there lollipop is?

Why are roots of a tree like a great
friend that leave themselves in you and
then move on to new places?

Why is love so hard to find that we search
so hard, but then when we finally give up we
realize that they were there all along?

Why does a bad song get stuck in your
head and you sing it everywhere you go
and it spreads until everyone is singing along?

Why is a sports game like life, that it
has you cheering the whole game, and is
suspenseful and unfair at times, but fun at others?

Why are pictures worth a thousand words
and leave you guessing and laughing until
everyone is doing the same as you?

I loved this piece, the rhetorical questions really made me to ponder throughout the poem. It really kept me engaged. Great work. Keep it up
