Writing Away The Devil

by Thoughtless Consideration   Jun 22, 2007

Words, like water.
Trickle down my fingernails-
Stain the page,
Lick my fear.
Pens scratching desperately-
A beast trying to escape.
Writing away the devil.
Eyes rolling everywhere-
Seeing something elsewhere;
My mind has wandered too far.
Chattering teeth in the cold summer-
The Earth is fighting;
I fight back with my paper.
Scribble a statement
On the old wall;
I refuse to be another brick.
A splash of art on the gray city-
We are terrified;
What is this color?
Desperate scratching, desperate scratching:
Writing away the devil.

    that part really stands out to me, it's like you're never going to give up. pretty awesome!

    Oh my god... I can't find words to describe how much I like this one. It's powerful, and every word is just... perfectly picked.
    Great job, keep writing.
