It Just Won't Last

by silence   Jun 22, 2007

If nothing lasts forever
Then why do we even try
Why should we say hello
If we have to say goodbye

Why get your heart broken
Every single day
Why let people in your life
When you know they'll go away

Our hearts are so fragile
Yet they always get broken
For this ride called life
We've paid our token

So for every up, there is a down
It's like a rollercoaster ride
Climb all the way to the top
Just to come down the slide

For it's hard to constantly
Have broken and hurt feelings
Or to lay on a bad
Just starting at the ceilings

No matter what
We do today
When tomorrow comes
It just can't stay

So don't hold to tight
Or live to fast
Because no matter what
It just won't last.

I adore this piece. It was, in fact, written and presented rather well and sound. The overall diction and flow of words were terrific. As a result, on the whole, I give you my props for writing such a fantastic piece. ~Marian
