Grounded

by CarolRae   Jun 22, 2007

Free to dream
and free to scheeme
but locked away,
by the cruel and the mean.
seconds to minutes
to hours to days
wishing and dreaming all the world's time away.
reading slowly old, boring books
to make up for the time that they took.
i notice now things,
that were once never seen...
the cat's one glaring eye
how the coal trucks roll by.
the printer's not on, and one Maisy book's gone
oh, look out the glass all covered in dust
cobwebs locking me in, oh how i must
escape from this room
go outside, escape this gloom.
oh how i despize
this pathetic demize
i will rough, for i was caught
and die all alone
stuck in the mire and muck of my home...
not cody
or jj
or even kels too
nope
only when they watch me,
may i speak back to them, too......
they look at me....stare at me...
glare at me, like they know.
know why i did it, think they'll stop it,
but no.
oh, i can't wait to be un-grounded,
for this suffering to cease.
to speak once more with my boyfriend,
and friends with careless ease.
for while i am free to dream
and free to scheeme
i am but locked away,
by the cruel and the mean.
they say grow up, little girl
and never look back...
i say, yeah right bossy parents,
and just get off my back!

Lol...I found that to be a funny poem. Although, I totally agree with you...it probably sucks to be grounded. I wouldn't know..because I don't get grounded :D...hehe...but I'm sure it sucks. Nice poem...^^ it deserves a 5/5
