Everyday she walks slowly to school,
To meet a million chanting faces,
That mock her too-thick glasses,
And her shiny silver braces.
Everyday she walks with her head down,
Hoping maybe they won't see her.
And everyday they laugh at her tears,
While she lacks the friends to free her.
Until one day she learned lifes lesson,
That other girls were too blind to realize;
Behind her braces is the prettiest smile,
And behind her glasses are gorgeous eyes.
Ugly is merely a human invention,
Made to make people feel superior.
And she pities the girls unable to see,
Past her plain superficial exterior.
Now she walks to school, head held high.
They stare with disgust, yet slight admiration.
She moves with the confidence of one enlightened:
She is simply one of natures varying beautiful creations.
