Can This World Be Different?

by Tashan   Apr 22, 2004

When the moment comes to finally step up,
Will we win the prize, that big golden cup?

Or will we be thrown to a place where no one can see,
The feelings deep within us, the freewill that longs to be

A flawless victory has yet to be won,
We walk around the world as if there's no sun.
We take into our hands what is not meant to be,
Then complain about it all as if we don't see.

There are often tears with every smile,
Yet we know that happiness only lasts for a while.
When it's gone we don't know where to turn,
And a dark feeling inside us soon begins to burn.

No one ever said that life would be fair
We spend all our days praying,
That our friends will always be there

Yet we learn that life is often too short
That our friends could be taken tomorrow,
There are people in the world who can't seem to learn
That a life isn't something you borrow.

I ask myself everyday if there can only be another way
If the hate and crime can stop in this life
And we can just erase all the pain and strife.

Despair has not yet taken over all of our lives,
This world could be better if everyone just strives.

ThereÂ’s no sense being in a place where you donÂ’t care
In the world today, thereÂ’s hurt and pain everywhere.

Just treat all who are around
The way you want them to treat you,
There are people out there who feel your pain too.
