Paycheck

by Amber   Jun 23, 2007

She leaves for work hoping its an okay day.
She goes to her boss every week, hoping she gets her pay.

Her boss refuses to pay her.
She turns and walks away.

She has a daughter to care for.
She feels weak and doubtful.

She comes home hoping for good news.
But finds out that she again is fooled.

Goes to work everyday to pay for food.
She feels like the world is weighing on her.

She has no help from anyone.
No shoulder to cry on but her own.

She terminates her job, and leaves without her pay.
Hoping that the next day would be a better day.

She... is my mother who stands strong.
Lives the fullest everyday.

But there has been one problem in her life.
It all started with her not getting paid with one single paycheck.

"She has no help from anyone.

What really gets to me is there are people out there in the world, living in their mansions, never having to worry about putting food on the table and then on the contrary there are other people struggling just to get money for food to be put on the table. Its not right. This was a sad but moving poem. All the best though hey.

    Take Care.
