A friend

by smit   Jun 23, 2007

I have a friend so sublime
She looks so pretty when she smiles
But little do I know what all she hides
Her heart bursting into tears no matter what the time

She lost her soul
In the burning coal
And now she's got nowhere to run
She's surrounded by the hateful sun

People tell her you seem fine
But she says she's lost all her shine
"You are getting better," I said
She said "say that when I am dead"

The world is such an ugly place
It has put her in an endless chase
She means so well
Someone please break her shell

She has so much to give
But she's finding it hard to live
Flutist, dancer, gamer, artist, and now a poet
So much talent, can't let it go to waste

All I am looking for is a spell
To exchange her world of hell
I will take any amount of blues
To see her happy anew
