Daddy's Gone.

by Teria   Jun 23, 2007

Daddy's Gone.

She awoke in such anger, found it hard to believe
that her dearest father would just up and leave.
No call, no visit, nothing to stay in touch..
Oh, the thousands of emotions are just too much.
Her little heart can't handle, what he's left behind..
But, his memory continues to linger in the back of her mind.
She can feel him everywhere she goes, like he`s not far away.
But, she stays true to herself and knows it`s been nine too many days.

Forever and a year, adding on to the stars..
Counting up the costs of all the burdened stars.
Each with a certain regret clinging to her skin,
She never would have thought she`d let him back in.
But, he left without a reason, he thought he did it right..
Leaving his daughter in the middle of the night.
Oh, his stupidity has worn off, but how can that be..
Because Daddy`s still gone.. and her heart`s still weak.

I liked it alot, i mean i can relate to this poem in a way, but there was a problem.....

"Forever and a year, adding on to the stars..
Counting up the costs of all the burdened stars."

as the rest of this poem rhymes you made to lines end in the same word, and you shouldnt do that in this case, i give this a 4/5

This poem almost made me cry. You wrote it excellently, and it's full of sadness. Great piece.
