Meanings For A Hero

by Maria   Jun 24, 2007

He puts his life on the line,
Fighting for our freedom.
He does his duty, while trying not to think of time.
He's more than words can explain from me,
Not just another person in the family.
He'd sacrifice his own life, he's a son a brother, a cousin,
a shining light so bright.
You can't expect someone like this, to not have bumps on
their road of life.
But he smiles away and it's a hopeful sight.
From Iraq to Texas, to who knows where,
I pray that the angels will watch over him, and keep him safe
and aware.
So when the pledge comes on, or you simply see a flag.
Don't sit and gaze, stand up for soldiers like mark,
be amazed.
Fly your flag with grace, keep your chin up high.
What I'm trying to say, in case you don't get the point.
You're more than my hero, more than just a trooper.
And even though, my words might not mean much to you,
I write with all my heart, and hope he understands he's
loved and missed and i never want to depart.
