I'm in love

by Jenny Atkinson   Jun 24, 2007

I'm in love with the razor blade,
The blood dripping from my veins,
The empty feeling thats inside,
That slowly subsides with a single slice.

The cut in my soul,
The cut in my wrist,
I wish this wasn't the way I exist.

I'm in love with the razor blade,
The warm river that flows,
Dripping from my fingertips,
The faint feeling that takes over.

The cut in my soul,
The cut in my wrist,
I wish this wasn't the way I exist.

This is one of the best poems I have ever read. It really describes self harm, the feeling of control, the numbness as you slice across your arm once again. Self harm is a nasty addiction - i should know. you are a beautiful writer and you should try not to let things get you down zxx
