Angel of Light

I said I'd never love again
I'd given up all hope
Cuz' he told me "hold on;" he loves me
Then he let go of the rope

I fell into the darkest pit
And then my heart was shattered
The life was sucked out of me
And my brain began to clatter

I then began to gasp for breath
I thought I was left to die
I wished I hadn't made those mistakes
And gave a fading sigh

But then I saw a shining light
I wondered who it could be
He picked up my heart and mended it
And brought life back in me

He took me out of the deadly pit
I felt the brush of his angelic wings
This light was indeed a miracle
The greatest of all things

He held me close and kissed my cheek
And took away my pain
And said "When you're with me don't fear.
You're safe and can't be slain.

Just hold me close and don't let go.
You'll never cry again.
I'll show you a world you've never seen.
And you'll have true happiness within."

I held onto my angel
And he took me on a flight
A flight of love and miracles
I've never seen such a sight

I want to thank you now, my angel
You've been there through and through
I know that words could not express
How much I care for you

I thought I'd never love again
I thought my heart was gone
But then you breathed your life in me
And my heart can now go on
