Home Again

by xLongxXxLostx   Jun 25, 2007

It's been a while since I've been 'home'
And everything still holds it's shape
Broken and scattered where our hopes fell
Where footprints showed our escape

Dust coats the desk and chair
Where papers are splotched with blood
Frantic scribbles crossed out in sections
And clothes caked in dried mud

Rain soaks through the broken windows
And wind creeps the door from the latch
What brought my here again tonight
When I swore I'd never come back?

Dirt has covered the floor
Where we once stood and stumbled
Would you believe it's been nearly 4 years
Since our reality crumbled?

Your scent has since faded from here
Covered in a musty, hazed fragrance
I only wish I could have said good bye
When I still had that chance

Spiderwebs have formed where we slept
rust's formed where there was chrome
and our footprints still showed our escape
from the only place we could call home...
