Upon this midsummer's eve
Toward the dimming sky I look toward the sunset,
My left eye like the sky pouring rain,
Thinking of you and my pain.
My right with just a teardrop beginning to form,
Wondering, what's the meaning of life?
How could I tear apart my own life?
What's the point of falling in love
When you can't confront the one you supposedly love?
Why do I wait this midsummer's eve crying for you?
And I wonder, could you be crying for me?
Upon this midsummer's eve
Toward the dimming sky I look toward the sunset,
All alone, waiting, I fall asleep and
Later when I wake, next to me in the sand
I see the form of a person and to it I see faded footsteps not there before, and from it I see fresh steps.
