Heartbeat

by Vesper   Jun 30, 2007

Lying on the bed in the dark
You see no light - not a spark
Nothing is moving, nothing's alive
You feel that you may not survive...
But then you hear it - that loud beat
Serenity engulfs you - you now feel complete,,,

Your heart talks to you, it makes you calm down
You listen amazed to that marvelous sound
Once...Twice...Again and again
It is a feeling you cannot explain
As long as it speaks and you care to hear
Despair and fear will never come near...

Reading it over and over again portrayed me the scene, drew it in detail. I can fancy myself in the same situation very well. I like your Heartbeat and I like all your poems! Great work, good rhymes.
