The Missing Part of Me

by Kayla   Jun 30, 2007

I was once strong,
So full of love and life.
Whenever you left,
You took all of that away.

Every time my heart beats,
It feels like it's about to bleed.
When you said goodbye to me,
You took away the other part of me.
So what good am I now?
I am no longer complete.

You were once the light of my life,
The very air that I breathe.
You brought new meaning to my day,
I could finally sleep in peace.

Hearing you laugh made me smile,
Seeing you smile made my heart flutter,
When you said my name my heart would skip a beat,
Having you around gave me butterflies.

Soon enough,
You said "we" had to end.
I cried and asked why,
Oh, I begged you not to say goodbye.
I clutched my heart and screamed,
I fell to the floor in such intense pain.
I just sobbed there quietly,
Begging for it all to just be a dream.

You didn't hold out your hand,
You didn't help me out this time.
All you did was watch my pain,
You did something even worse,
You walked right out the door.

When I heard that door shut,
I instantly knew...
I was now missing a part of me,
And that part is you.
