Abuse

Home, they say, is where the heart is,
But there must be some exceptions.

Here no one has heart except mom and me,
And stakes are high as for expectations.

If I look at daddy the wrong way, or do something wrong,
He goes and attacks mommy for no reason at all!!

He yells at her and hits her repeatedly,
Everyone can hear her screams.

They all ask ask What happened last night?
But she insists that she is all right.

She has bruises all over her face,
But she says she cant leave this place.

I ask her why and she says that daddy really loves her,
And its all her fault for him hitting her.

This repeatedly happens over and over again,
And no one even tries to take action.

Mommy finally went to a better place,
Where she wont ever have bruises on her face anymore.

Everyone mourns our loss,
But I am happy she got away from this dreadful place.

Now I am with daddy alone,
And I am now his punching bag.

He hits in every place,
And you now can hardly see my pretty face

He yells at me the way he did with mommy,
And punches me too.

Finally the night has come and he has pushed too far,
I fall over and and pass out on the floor.

I wake in the hospital and daddy looks as if he had a fright,
But I have seen it too many times before we hed hit mommy too.

I looked at him and say I wish mommy never loved you,
And everything goes dark.

I now see a very bright light,
And mommy waiting for me!!

She says shes sorry for leaving me in that dreadful place,
And for the first time in a long time I see her face.

I tell her that I still love her and that the worst is over and done,
And now all we have is time in our new home
