Angel With Broken Wings

by JRS   Jun 30, 2007

On the back of an angel with broken wings
Eyes shut to the faces of so many things
Wondering where the angel will lead me
Essence of black is all that I can see
Far from the comfort of my inner home
Is he pure or should I leave him alone
When and where will this ride end
Can I trust for his mangled heart to mend
Wrap and tend his broken wings
Prove only the good that my heart brings
Help him to stand, watch him rise
Once more he'll take right to the skies
No longer will I ride his back
But lead him down his righteous track
