How stupid could i be?

by Valiantpenguin   Jun 30, 2007

Night lifts up
the shades are pulled back
the windows let in the golden morning light
but steady your stance
I am weak
and starving for your mercy
sleep has left me cold
to carry the weight of everything that went wrong
it's all I can do to keep holding on
to keep from falling
into those familiar shoes

how stupid could I be
anyone could see
that you're not good for me
but you're still the only one I see

love has made me blind
it set me on fire
and watched as I followed you love struck
unable to speak
even to cry out
i always wait for an answer from you
but you come to me in your own sweet time
talking of beautiful places
an island oasis
to take me to
but the well dries up
as soon as you leave
and you leave me burning
dying of heat this desert without you

everything changes with you
it always falls apart
and i can't stop to feel
i can't stop to keep myself from losing control
but deep in my senses I know
that I'm a fool to stay with you
anyone could tell that i should leave
but here i stay
in a blind love
waiting for you to care
