Ruined

by Robin   Jun 30, 2007

The net that catches me,
It's only a trap.
You used to hol out your arms to break my fall,
But now it's just the memory
Of being caught in your trust and love
And nothing's there to stop me
as I crash through the air.
Towards every day without you.
As the curtains flutter off the windows,
For a moment,
I can enjoy the beauty of wind.
But that moment passes,
As the memory of lying in this exact same spot
with you takes its place.
I'm ruined.
Things that filled me with joy
Seem ordinary and just bring back the loss.
So I struggle, day after day
Just to live in the same life
That I once lived with you.
I would give anything to be caught in your arms again.
