Lonely Lovers

by lexie   Jul 1, 2007

I can hear them,
Booming in the night sky,
Lighting it up so pretty,
Where are you now?

You should be here,
To hold me close,
Arms around my waist,
Don't ever let me go.

It's just so hard here,
Now that you're gone,
Sometimes it feels that,
A part of me is lost.

I must be strong,
When I see them smile,
And they have no idea,
What is happening.

They ask if I'm okay,
And how do I answer?
You're not here,
Am I even alive?

The numbing pain,
Is wearing away,
And this loneliness,
Is settling itself in.

Baby,I still believe,
You're coming soon,
I'll be here waiting,
Just like I promised.

This is a great poem. Maybe it's because I can relate perfectly to it, but I couldn't have written it any better. I loved it. And now I have it as one of my favorite poems.
