Take me back

by tragedy   Jul 1, 2007

Do not tell me what I can or can not do.
For a lifetime i have been missing you.

You are like a black drop of poison on my delicate skin,
The lightening that completes the thunderstorm.

I am trapped by the words you have thrown at me
They stain my soul with hatred and pain

And all I ever say is why don't you love me?
Take me back, take me back
I whisper in your ear for the infinite time

It is worse than a bounded spell you put on my heart
Heartache does not describe my hopeless attempt to restart
So take me back, take me back

Tell me the lie you have so often whispered in my ear
Tell me the lie that you would never let me go
That I am the girl of your universe and imprisoned world

So do you say that to everyone
Do you tell all the pathetic girls like me the lie i have once heard

And I believed you loved me, I believed it all from the start
I believed all the dishonesty between you and me
The falseness, the fiction
The complete distortion of all the facts

I was fooled and deceived by the look of your eyes
They tell such a pure hurtful story, a spell making me say
Take me back, take me back

And every time I see you, you say
I will take you back, I will take you back
But then you walk away with your fingers crossed behind your back
Already knowing that I know your every thought
... of how you won't take me back
