Inside and out

I went to the park to see what good i can find
i saw a young boy that was getting picked on by bullies
they pushed him to the ground and spat on his face
a tear came from him eye, yet he arose and kept on going

the next day i went to the movies
i saw in front of me a few teens picking on a small girl
these teens threw popcorn at her and called her a fat b*#$h
the girl kept eating and showed no shame, only inside i knew she was hurting

a couple of days later i witnessed a homeless man on the side of the road
he was begging for food, or money or anything he could receive
everyone walked passed him like nothing was wrong
they didn't seem to care about anyone but themselves

are we all selfish
or are we judge mental?
i think we are both of these things
yet still no one has changed

is it because we are scared of what others think?
or what they'll say behind our backs?
is it the looks someone gives you when you look a little different?
or the feeling of being hated by our so-called friends?

these people that are bullied, those who get called names
or that have no where to go or no one to go to
they are all stronger than us one way or another
they put up with so much and they hide their feelings away

most of us laugh at these people, but for nothing they did wrong
they suffer because we treat them like monsters
we give them no kindness, of which we should do
they show us how we should be, and they get nothing in return

i tell you this because i once was like one of these people
that got treated with nothing but bruises and hurtful words
scared for life with painful memories and made my confidence drop to a low level

i hope reading this changes your views on others unlike yourself
and stops you from making someone feel bad
hurting them
and scaring their life...
