The Best You Ever Had

by Danish   Jul 1, 2007

She sits alone and wonders,
How it ended so bad,
How could he break your heart?
You gave all the love you had..

She never saw it coming,
It took her by surprise,
The night he said it's over,
Could see it in his eyes.

She never let him see the tears,
She held her head up high,
Walked away from him forever,
He would never see her cry.

The memory still remains,
He is always on her mind,
She wonders if he regrets,
Ever leaving her behind.

Two years later,
She see's him again,
He says that he loves her,
And can't take the pain.

She gives him a smile,
Holds his face in her hands,
Tells him its okay,
And that she understands.

He tries to kiss her lips,
But, her smile fades away,
She frowns and turns around,
But, he cries for her to stay.

He tells her that he's sorry,
But she says 'That's too bad',
'The regret will always haunt you',
'Cuz I'm the best you ever had'.

She walks away smiling,
It was that moment that she knew,
Now he knows how she had felt,
When he broke her heart in two.
