Lucy in the sky with diamonds

Lucy in the sky with diamonds

God Lucy, you look so splendid.
But don't you think it's time to climb back down?
We all know how you got there,
But up in the sky you're not doing anyone any good.
No you're not doing anyone any good.

I think you're an idiot now,
But I don't know when I stopped caring about that.
You gave up on being read like a book,
You got your life recorded on audiotape and it's playing in the hall.
It's not for our benefit.
It's not for our benefit.

The Beatles played on the radio,
Oh, and I, I had a spade.
I found your body in the soil,
I found your body in the soil.

Your skull didn't match your thigh,
Lucy, do you want to tell me why?
Every other aspect was not this secret.
How dare they say I put you there?
I never saw you before.
This was the first.

But your beauty! How it got to me.
Lucy, you were like a diamond,
And I needed you to prove my theory.
Lucy, you were like a diamond
And you helped me see clearly.

Lucy, Lucy you're not in the sky.

this poem has references to the archeological dig. Somebody found a being that is neither human nor anything else (significant in some way i don't fully understand) it was dark and the stars were like diamonds, on the radio this song was playing. they named the body Lucy, it just inspired me.
