To Some and Others

by Mr M   Jul 1, 2007

To some, love is born with a tender kiss
And to others, it is a biochemical reaction.
But to they who believe, it's all that's bliss
And to the rest, just shadowy distraction.

To some, love is something that they feel
And to others, it's nothing but illusion.
But to they who believe, it's very real
And to the rest, it's only just delusion.

To some, love reaches beyond infinity
And to others, it's that which comes and goes.
But to they who believe, it's purely divinity
And to the rest, the folly of two souls.

But to me, your love is a perfect flower
With a scent, I'll always desire to adore.
For I believe it gives my life its very power
And is a loss to the rest who go on seeking nothing more.

This is a wonderful poem - the idea of love almost as a higher power virus love as merely a biological tool is put across in a really articulate, intelligent and observant manner. possibly my favorite.

I love this poem. How it is felt different ways by different people. And the last stanza was great. A truly amazing write. 5/5
