Just another missing child

by ..::Angel of your darkness::..   Jul 1, 2007

She clutches her doll tightly to her chest
And walks out into the cold dark night
She whispers a prayer up into the stars
"Mummy I'm lost and I need you to show me the light"

The passer-by stare and the child on her own
Their faces are frozen mannequins in a window
She runs a little faster to get away
She's crying now and can only pray

Doesn't anyone know she's gone missing?
Don't they realise the little girl is lost
Wondering dark streets at night alone
Rain on her blonde curls, cold from the frost

She's crying out to someone who can't hear
Holding her doll to help fight her tears
She's looking for a light that long did fade
She's just a little girl who can never be saved

Beautifully written sad poem, very touching. Emotions run through the whole piece, and the imagery that you created is very vivid and powerful.
    Great job, 5/5.
