No Name

Not one person knew his name
A lonely soldier who die that day
He save many men from dying in vein
A lonely soldier died that day
And not one person could tell you his name

They gave him a medal
And his memory carries on
But is there anyone out there
Who could tell me his name
But not one person could tell me his name

His picture was all in the news
Speaking of his bravery
But still no one came forward
Or claim this man
And No one could tell me his name

How can a man go off to war
Died for his country
And fight for people he didn't even know
But not one thank you did he ever hear
But not one person could tell me his name

Than one day a little girl came forward
She wrote a letter to the President
And where her daddy went
She asked him if her daddy
Was safe
She stood on the news with the President
And that little girl told the world
Just what her daddy's name was

And that little girl still so tall
As she told how her daddy did fall

This poem is a well-drawn picture of what war looks like. I think that is what makes it so sad.
