An Angel's Whisper

I stood by his side with tears in my eyes
I held on tight so he would not let go
No words has he spoken for almost a month
But that night he said he's ready to go
And that his angel told him it was okay to go home
I started to cry begging him to stay
Telling him I couldn't live without him
As I held his hand and laid my head down
I heard a small voice inside my head
She told me she was an angel
And here to take daddy home
I was not to worry because he'd be safe
And from the sky he would be able
To watch me and my children grow
I asked for her to let him stay
because I can't live without my daddy
Please angel Ask God
To leave him here
I brought my head up and looked at him
daddy said I love you and then
Off to heaven he went
