Paint a Smile on My Face

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Jul 2, 2007

Shards of broken stars fall; piercing into my broken heart,
As the Angels of Death cackle; trying to break me apart,
And my ears are pulsing to the horrid sound of their words,
Strewn across the bloody sky; I stand at the end of the world.

They throw me to the ground; kick black dirt into my face -
Laughing and pointing as they watch me fall from grace,
And there's an already dug grave in the corner of the sea,
As I stand at the bottom in the ropes and chains of mediocrity.

The moon shines down; a spotlight on the final scene,
And they burn what they said; light it up in kerosene,
But their hearts flutter as they watch me beg for peace -
Paint a smile on my face and start to solemnly feast.

Metaphoric for the sense of the harm that others words can do. So, the Angels of Death would be society and those opposed to the way others live their life.
