Trust vs Naivety

by xxSilentlyScreamingxx   Jul 2, 2007

Too trusting.
That's me all over.
I have too kind a nature,
Always see the good in people,
Masking the bad from my eyes.
Blind to people's true natures,
Trust as soon as look at someone,
Think I know them well,
Think I know they'd never hurt me.
Oh, how wrong am I...
My trust in people never pays off,
They always find a way around it
And manage to hurt me, use me, lie to me.
Betray my good nature, my trust in you,
And cause me so much pain.
You'd think that I would learn by now,
People aren't to be trusted,
They've always got some hidden motive or agenda,
Ready to jump out at me when I least expect it.
But no, I can't help it,
Trust is all I have to give, all I do give.
So trusting,
So naive...
