Unhappy Birthday

by beckyy   Jul 2, 2007

What did you get for your birthday?
Was it something nice?
I'm sitting here in the E.R.,
My face is packed with ice.

I dread it every birthday,
They never give me toys,
Mom will get drunk again,
Her nights out with the boys.

I know she doesn't mean it,
she's far to drunk to know,
she hits me hard for nothing,
And bruises always show.

A birthday to remember,
The policemen had to call,
They took my mom away this time,
she said I'd had a fall.

she's really done it this time,
An ambulance had to come,
That's why I'm sitting here in E.R.,
Waiting with my friends.
