It's All An Act

by ~Not~Quite~There~   Jul 2, 2007

The scene played out before our eyes
Is a carefully constructed disguise
A mask to hide the darkened skies
A pretty smile to hide the sinister lies

Retreating to a mere child’s fiction
Banishing each contradiction
Her life is fine her heart complete
Dignity and hope tattered by her feet

Silence is golden in her own fantasy
Built up a wall so no one could see
The pain like ice freezing her inside
Brushing away the tears she cannot cry

Numb to the concept of anything true
No dreams or desires to follow through…
