Shooting Star

Shooting Star
By: Charisma*

I don't believe in dreams anymore.
For what happens when I wake up?
You are gone, away from my heart.
A false pretense that you were in love.

I don't believe in soul mates anymore.
We were just alike, but you're not mine.
The circumstances gave us perfection
But all of my devotion you declined.

I don't believe in fairytales anymore.
Happily-ever-after...what a lie.
The damsel in distress is still in the tower
'Cause her prince had wandering eyes.

I don't believe in meant-to-be's anymore.
Was I really meant to hurt like I do?
I won't accept the pain I'm feeling
As part of a plan for me and you.

I don't believe in shooting stars anymore.
Where do they take the wishes I send?
Maybe into a pile of other hopeful wishes
That will never see a happy end.

The damsel in distress is still in the tower
'Cause her prince had wandering eyes...those were by far my fav lines through out the poem. I mean the analogy there is perfect for the poem and emotion conveyed. Fantastic job once more girl!!! Keep 'em coming!
