Flames of Fire

by Lost Soul 691   Jul 2, 2007

The flames of fire
tempt and mesmerize
drawing me in
analogous to your eyes

Heat and intensity
too strong for my soul
yet I linger
letting myself get burnt

Flickering outward
slowly encompassing
taking all oxygen
in it's path

For I can't breathe
when I'm lost in your depths
and I can't see
for the clouds of smoke

Escape slowly dwindles
as I can't turn
or step back in time
away from the fervour

The red orange hues
still lap and flicker out
taunting me to reach
singeing my heart

Turn me to ashes
and let me rise on the wind
to settle anew
amongst the earth
