Never Got To Say Goodbye

by lexie   Jul 3, 2007

I remember that night,
She's crying on the phone,
I can barely make out words,
But I know what happened.

You finally snapped,
It wasn't your time,
But it's what you wanted,
And I have to accept that.

Never got to say goodbye,
I'll always regret that,
But in my heart I know,
That I'll see you someday.

I hope heaven is perfect,
That it's everything you wanted,
No more heartache and tears,
You're smiling down now.

It's comforting to know,
I've got an angel,
Watching out for me,
Keeping me safe.

Everytime it rains,
I think of you up there,
You're not crying,
Just reminding me.

Of the times we had,
The summer we spent,
Just a couple of teens,
Running in the pouring rain.

May the angels hold you,
And keep you strong,
Cuz you know someday,
I'll be seeing you with wings.

I did enjoy reading this piece although I think you need to change a word such as "coz" too because as the slang really throws readers off when reading. Other then that minor thing I found this piece to be quite hopefully, happy yet sad at the same time mixed together so I really did like the emotions you portrayed here. Well done ~mel

    But it's what you wanted,
And I have to accept that.

    Never got to say goodbye,
    I'll always regret that,
`It kind of ruined it for me when you used that so soon T_T I don't know, when I read it, it just didn't sound right .

Overall, it was over average . Not absolutely great ! But it was pretty good . I think the ending was superb . It shows happiness in sadness all the same .
    Nicely done .
