You Were Gone

by gabriel   Jul 3, 2007

Lying beside a bed of rosemary red
Upon a velvet green I closed my eyes and dream

Reaching out for perfection
My hands could never touch
A porcelain of attraction
I needed you this much

The cool autumn breeze gently sleaze
Wispy ash burnt hair without a care

You smiled a row of pearls
And winked a cheeky grin
Leaving me in a whirl
You were my perfect sin

The sun lower; somehow slower
Delving into dusk for darkness to busk

I tried to pulling you over
Somehow you pried away
You are my only lover
So please don't go away

Ghastly grey fog upon a bog
Nocturnal creeps hush over the marsh

Didn't know how you faded away
A half-moon barely lighted the view
Like when you left, no words to say
Somehow gone; that I knew

I opened my eyes to a rising dawn
Those very lies told me you were gone
