ARABIAN SANDS

by NIDAL   Jul 3, 2007

I am the son of the desert sand,
Where camels roam the Arid land.

Blizzard of whispers tell my story,
I once was a king crowned with glory.

Oasis of fortunes covered my land,
Milk and honey flowed to every mouth and hand.

I am the father, the ruler and a Just man,
I always ate with the right clan.

But clouds of sorrow rained the tears,
River of blood drained from every pier.

The Dark horses swarmed the plains,
Hordes of Khan butcher and maim.

My end was near with a Mongol spear,
I fell to the tears of children in fear.

Finally at home in the Arabian sands,
Embracing the blood of prophets, sages and seers.

Now I am a voice of past deeds,
Coming to your mind to prompt you to heed.

Be humble in life,
As the prince of death can be a dark swarming steed.

Written at such an awesome scale; going back in time fashioned as a flashback of a paternal king.

The chronolgy of living in a "golden age" to their devastation, proceeding to give warning to future leaders, was physical and moving.

    Well done~
