Sweet Dreams

I enter a world dark and deep
Walking through, scared of what might be
Hiding my eyes, scared of what I might see
In this horrible place in my sleep.

A castle with broken windows and shattered glass
Silence ringing, the worst sound you can hear
I try to tell myself there's nothing to fear
But it gets harder with the stare each gargoyle has

On the wall they sit all made of stone
Glaring at me as if I'm their prey
Mind racing, to frightened to stay,
I pass on through the darkness, all alone

The rocky pathway is cold on my feet
Jagged edges cut into my heels
The ache and pain not seeming surreal
I tred on carefully down the dark, misty street.

A one way street leading to a dead end
A cemetery to the left, the only way to go
I follow the path where merely shadows show
To an old spiral staircase on which I descend

I reach the foundation as my dream unfurled
'Bang' Pulse racing I turn as a bullet hits my heart
Feeling the pain, I awoke with a start
Alive and glad to see the end of that world.
