Unsent Letter

Dear mindless guy of the past,
This is really hard for me to say.
I still haven't forgiven you for everything,
Not even till this day.

I still want to know why you did it,
Why you decided to pick at my brain.
And eat away at the precious memories,
Till nothing else remained.

I still gaze upon you in the halls,
Unable to help but take a glance.
I've wanted to speak to you for so long,
And beg a second chance.

The hatred that you claim for me,
Pains me more than you'd believe.
I desire so much to run up to you,
And question why you'd ever leave.

I can't help dreaming of your face,
And thinking of you in class.
It's not an obsession, like you think,
This heart ache just won't pass.

I've tried so hard not to miss you,
Not to cry or scream all over the place.
But it's so tiring keeping all this in,
When you're right in front of my face.

So I'm writing to you, this short poem,
This letter that will go unsent.
Maybe when it gets to you one day,
You'll see how much you meant.
