Hope Fades When the Last Drop Falls

by Kerry   Jul 4, 2007

She slowly falls into a puddle on the floor.

Her heart nothing but an abyss, a hole, but with no room to prosper.

The depression gets to her, and her body aches all over.

She can't smile.

She can barely make it to her room without collapsing from the overwhelming thoughts that haunt her.

Why can't she simply learn to suck it up?

Why is it so hard for her to forget?

Be quiet, stupid little girl.

Is she ever going to learn to keep her big mouth shut?

The world around her continues to move,

While she simply sits in place.

It's as if the room is spinning, and she's on a solid platform.

Her feet are cemented to the ground; there is no way for her to move.

She seems trapped;

Trapped in her own insanity.

All she hears is drivel.

It's as if everyone else is speaking a different language.

She's a foreigner in her own house.

Her family is the enemy.

Or perhaps she is simply the enemy to everyone else,

Only she doesn't know it.

She's driving herself into the dirt, she is digging her own grave.

She spends long, cold nights in her torn gown;

Digging, digging away everything.

Every night, her grave gets a little deeper.

And every night, she is closer to stepping in.

Each slice on her wrist, each memory spilling out of her,

Smothers what is left of her sanity.

It is too much for her.

This silly, weak girl thinks she can handle the pain.

Too lethargic to even think,

She writes out her final cry for help..

Only no one can understand.

She's a happy girl, she has so much going for her.

She's being histrionic.

Ignore her; she'll be fine.

But will she? Will she really?

Of course not.

She's a fragile feather blowing wildly in this hurricane.

With the last bit of hope glistening in her eyes,

She takes her knife.

Like an imprudent fool,

She finally ends the process that has been continuing for years.

That's it.

Her life is over.

No one knew of the pain she harbored in her heart,

Nor will anyone know how the pain got there..

Not now anyways.

She was too enervated to even care about what all she was leaving behind.

She's was pathetic, truly pathetic..
