Not Ready To Say Goodbye.

by Chantal   Jul 4, 2007

It can't be true.
I keep telling myself he's just kidding.
He'll start talking again any second.
His brother grabs the phone and tells me the awful news.
You're gone forever.
You died on the phone with me.
I was supposed to go and see you that night
But instead i hung out with a friend.
I miss you everyday.
I miss how you could always make me laugh,
how you me and your brother would hang out for hours
just laying in the grass looking at the sky.
I remember all the secrets you told me.
I remember the look on your face when me and your brother first dated.
You were heartbroken.
It wasn't until the night of your death that i found out how much you really liked me.
I remember the good times and the bad.
You will forever be in my heart.
It wasn't your time to leave.
You could always brighten a room with just your smile.
You made the best of everything,
and turned something negative into something positive.
You would have grown up to be a great member of society.
You were such a great role model.
I hope to be just like you.
You still had so much to do with your life.
Our list of 100 Things We Want To Do Before We Die
Will have to be completed by me alone,
I promise I will finish it before its my time.
That's my only promise to you.
I just hope that you can see me and know that you are missed.
Everything that I do, I do for you.
Knowing that you'll protect me from harm,
like you've done all along.
You were more then a friend,
you were like a big brother to me.
You kept me sane and alive.
You made me keep going when I felt like giving up.
I miss you.
I'm still not ready to say goodbye.

-to my dear friend Gregory, you truly were someone special.
