The Locked Soul's Freedom

by The Angel of Secrets   Jul 4, 2007

What you are asking for, is not for me to give,
Don't tell me how I'm supposed to live.
I'm not here for you to like, not here to hate,
I am the master of my own fate.

I will never drop begging on my knees,
Just to show, what no one sees.
I may seem hard, rocky, and cold,
But you know nothing of the feelings I hold.

They say that beauty comes from within,
You know nothing of what's under my skin.
Perhaps there is a reason I hide,
What I feel, and what's inside.

Vulnerability is not my strongest part,
I might get hurt, if I open my heart.
For me, it's hard to open my shell,
To open what inside, is like pure hell.

If no one really knows, the real you,
You don't have to keep showing that you are true.
You can change without people wondering why,
Judging you with their nose way up high.

You may not know the feeling, cause few people do,
To like being alone, no one knowing you.
This is my way, of just being me.
This is my way, for me to be free.

Great poem, I like the choice of words and the flow.
    I can relate to it.
    My favorite stanza is;
"They say that beauty comes from within,
You know nothing of what's under my skin.
Perhaps there is a reason I hide,
What I feel, and what's inside."
