Good bye kisses

by Stephanie Naylor   Jul 4, 2007

I remember you be saying
That things be best for both of us
I sat and cried my saline tears
And held your hand so tight
You tried to let me know in so many ways
That you loved me but it wasn't me.
Like a dagger that stabs at your heat and taunts your humility
Even though your kisses didn't fall short of my heart
They were goodbye kisses
I knew...
My heart knew
Kisses that fell short on your side like the big dipper and the milky way but then spilled
I pulled back tears as my stomach clenched and withered
Yet I knew this was just another chapter in the saga of my life
Where my heart sent eulogy's and did not want to say goodbye
And yet I wanted to see you happy
Even though I could not have mine
Just like I wanted to float in the clouds
Among the angels yet you were grounded
Goodbye tears are so hard
Yet with fondest far wells I say...
Goodbye.

Lot's of expressed emotion in this piece, it was well written and you had many ways of describing your thoughts. Well done.

The word choice worked well, every line flowed into the next very well. and the emotion and sadness was powerful.
So beautiful it made me wanna cry.
    well done

Ending is really impressing. It is well written but it isn't type of poetry that I love. It is interesting and you expressed emotions very good.

Omg, it was nicely penned, it was so deep and emotional, it was just perfect, the way your wording is and the way you set it out, just amazing, 5/5
