A Homecoming

A Homecoming
Once upon a winters whisper,
The trees grew tall and strong,
And the midnight sun glowed,
As nature hummed its song.

All was very neat and tidy,
In the Flakes home beneath the tree,
The children were soon coming,
They would tumble as soft as brie.

The Flakes passed time patiently,
The arrival of their raucous young,
And as they continued to wait,
Through the air loud voices sung:

.Here, they are coming now!
Just in time to light faces aglow!
Watch yourselves, everyone
For we call these younguns snow!.

Tiny white flecks littered the air,
The children coming home,
For the seasons chilled weather,
Gliding, slowly the night to roam.

The Flakes faces light up in joy,
As the snow lands gently on the roof,
Grandpa flake greets warmly,
..Come here, you little goof!..

All was happy that the kids had come,
And were safe and nestled in their beds,
Their small specks of eyes closed softly,
As dreams danced through their heads.

Once upon a winters whisper,
The trees grew tall and strong,
And the midnight sun still glowed,
As the snow was where it belonged.
