Living in Fear

The rustling branches,
The murmuring voices,
The disturbing flashbacks,
The unexplained noises.

The daunting shadows,
The haunting faces,
The nearing footsteps,
The unsolved cases.

The cold, dark eyes,
The mocking smirk,
The unexpected places,
In which they may lurk.

Looking over your shoulder,
Just to see if someone's there.
The fear slowly creeping in.
